What is the drive from Plano to Wylie?

Wylie is about 15 to 18 miles east of our yard at 6000 Split Trail Rd in east Plano. Trucks take Parker Road east, or the Bush Turnpike (SH-190) east to SH-78 north. The run takes about 25 to 30 minutes, so morning calls have the best shot at same-day delivery.

SH-78 is the main road through Wylie, with FM 544 and SH-205 serving the edges. Homes on the far east side toward the lakes add a few minutes.

Can you set a unit for a Lavon Lake or lakeside gathering?

Yes, on private land or where the land manager approves. Lavon Lake sits about 5 miles north of Wylie, and its public parks are run by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Get the park's OK before booking. For a private lakeside lot, we need level, firm ground within 15 feet of the truck.

Shoreline lots often slope toward the water. A unit set on a slope can rock or tip, so pick the flattest spot near the house or drive. Wet ground near the water stays soft long after a storm.

Can a unit go on Ballard Avenue for a downtown Wylie event?

Not on the street itself without city approval. Downtown Wylie is a small historic district along Ballard Avenue, and public sidewalks and streets fall under city control. We place units on private lots, church lots or approved event space, with at least 1 wheelchair-accessible unit per cluster for public crowds.

Merchants and churches near downtown often have a rear lot. That is the easiest spot for a truck to reach. Use the wheelchair-accessible unit for public events; its door is 32 inches wide and the floor rolls in at ground level.

Ask the city about street closures early. A closure may change where trucks can reach on drop day.

Does my Wylie HOA need to approve a porta potty?

Check with it first. Many Wylie subdivisions have HOAs with rules on how long an item can be seen from the street. Ask yours about time limits before a long rental. A backyard spot keeps the unit out of view, but the gate must be at least 48 inches wide for our 43.5-inch standard unit.
