What counts as a seasonal porta potty rental?
One that stays in place for a single season, usually 6 to 20 weeks. Common ones are youth sports seasons, pumpkin lots, Christmas tree lots, farmers markets, pool season and harvest. The unit bills on a 28-day cycle with weekly service until you request pickup.
| Season | Typical months | Typical setup |
|---|---|---|
| Spring youth sports | March to June | 1 to 2 locked units per field complex |
| Fall youth sports | August to November | 1 to 2 locked units per field complex |
| Pumpkin lot | October | 1 standard unit plus a hand wash sink |
| Christmas tree lot | Late November to December | 1 standard unit, lit area near the trailer |
| Farmers market | Spring through fall, weekly | Standard units plus sinks for food vendors |
| Pool season | Late May to early September | 1 unit near the gate, on concrete |
| Harvest crews | Varies by crop | 1 toilet + 1 sink per 20 workers (OSHA 1928.110) |
How is a season-long rental billed?
On a 28-day cycle with 4 weekly services per cycle. The first cycle includes delivery, and later cycles cost less. A 12-week season equals exactly 3 cycles. Pickup is not automatic, so call or text when the season ends. Billing stops the day you request pickup.
| Season length | Days | 28-day cycles | Weekly services |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8 weeks | 56 | 2 | 8 |
| 12 weeks | 84 | 3 | 12 |
| 16 weeks | 112 | 4 | 16 |
| 20 weeks | 140 | 5 | 20 |
We reviewed 185 recorded calls from people renting porta potties in 2026 (172 reached a live conversation). Long-term renters were often confused by 28-day billing and by pickup not being automatic. Leagues change volunteers every season, so write the pickup step into your handoff notes. Details are on our 28-day billing guide.
How do we keep kids out of the field porta potty after hours?
Ask for the free hasp and padlock. A locked field porta potty stops off-hours use, vandalism and messes between game days. Give the key or code to coaches or the field manager. Tell us the code too, so the driver can reach the unit on its 1 weekly service day.

- Pick a service day that is not a game day, like Tuesday or Wednesday.
- Set the unit on firm ground near the parking lot, not on the turf.
- Tournament weekend coming? Add a unit or an extra service, quoted first.
- Need an accessible unit for spectators? See our accessible unit.

Call (972) 812-6200Get quoteCan you put a porta potty at a school field?
Yes, with written permission from the school or district that owns the field. Send us the name of your contact and the approved spot. The truck must park within about 15 feet of the spot on a paved lot or firm drive. Trucks do not drive across athletic turf or soft grass.
Leagues that rent school fields often need their own restrooms. Ask the facilities office where units may sit and whether they want them locked after games. Churches, schools, government agencies and qualifying nonprofits with a valid Texas sales tax exemption certificate pay no sales tax. Send the certificate before you pay.
What do pumpkin and Christmas tree lots need?
A pumpkin lot or Christmas tree lot usually needs 1 standard unit for staff and shoppers, plus a hand wash sink. The two-station sink holds 22 gallons of fresh water and gives about 350 uses per fill. Lots run 4 to 6 weeks, so a 28-day cycle or two covers it.

Most lots sit on asphalt, which is a firm, level base. Place the unit near the sales trailer where there is light after dark, and lock it at closing. See our hand wash station page and the PolyJohn Bravo specs.
What about farmers markets and pool season?
A weekly farmers market can keep 1 or 2 units in place all season on a 28-day cycle, with service set the day after market day. A neighborhood pool can keep 1 unit near the gate from late May to early September. Put pool units on concrete, clear of wet deck traffic.
Markets with food vendors should add a hand wash sink. Pools often lock the unit when the lifeguards leave. Many Plano-area HOAs run their own pools, so ask the HOA board about placement before booking. A market open to the public with 100 or more people a day may need a City of Plano special event permit.
How many toilets do harvest crews need?
OSHA 29 CFR 1928.110 requires 1 toilet and 1 handwashing facility for every 20 field workers, within a quarter-mile walk of where they work. The rule applies when 11 or more employees do hand labor in the field. A 45-person crew needs 3 toilets and 3 handwashing facilities.
| Hand laborers | Toilets | Handwashing facilities |
|---|---|---|
| 10 or fewer | Rule does not apply | Rule does not apply |
| 11 to 20 | 1 | 1 |
| 21 to 40 | 2 | 2 |
| 41 to 60 | 3 | 3 |
Crews that move fields may want a towable unit. Read the full OSHA 1928.110 field sanitation rule. This is not legal advice.
How do spring storms and summer heat affect a seasonal unit?
North Texas spring storms bring high winds and heavy rain, and summer highs near 96 degrees raise odor in any unit. In spring, set units against a fence or building and away from open field edges. In July and August, consider 2 services per week. If a unit tips over, call us right away.
Plano's clay soil turns to mud after rain. Gravel or pavement keeps the truck from getting stuck on service day. Check National Weather Service Fort Worth before tournament weekends.
