How does 28-day porta potty billing work?

It bills every 28 days, not by calendar month. Each cycle covers the unit and 4 weekly service visits. Cycle 1 also includes delivery, so it costs more. Cycle 2 and every later cycle bill at a lower rate. A full year is 13 cycles, not 12.

CycleDaysWhat the cycle coversRate
Cycle 1Days 1–28Delivery, unit, 4 weekly servicesHigher (includes delivery)
Cycle 2Days 29–56Unit, 4 weekly servicesLower
Cycle 3Days 57–84Unit, 4 weekly servicesLower
Each later cycleEvery 28 daysUnit, 4 weekly servicesLower
End of rentalThe day you callPickup (listed on your first quote)Billing stops

Why 28 days? Four weeks lines up with four service visits every time. A calendar month would give you 4 visits some months and 5 in others. Your quote shows the cycle 1 rate and the later rate side by side. See the cost guide for typical ranges.

Why do long-term renters get surprised by their bill?

We reviewed 185 recorded calls from people renting porta potties in 2026 (172 reached a live conversation). Long-term renters were most confused by 2 things: 28-day billing and pickup that is not automatic. Many expected a calendar month or thought the unit would leave on its own.

So we put it all on one itemized quote: unit, cycle 1 rate, later cycle rate, delivery, pickup, weekly service, tax and any rush charge. No fuel surcharge is added later.

  • Ask: "What is cycle 1 and what is cycle 2?"
  • Ask: "Is pickup on this quote?"
  • Ask: "What do I do to stop billing?"

Any company should answer all three before you pay.

What does weekly service include on a monthly rental?

Four steps, every week. The driver pumps out the 60-gallon waste tank, cleans and sanitizes the seat, urinal, walls and floor, restocks toilet paper and hand sanitizer, and refills the deodorizer. You do not need to be home. Extra service visits are available Monday through Saturday, quoted before they are scheduled.

One unit with weekly service fits a typical household using it every day. If more people share it, call and we quote a second weekly visit.

How do I request pickup and stop billing?

Call or text (972) 812-6200 to request pickup. Pickup is not automatic on a long-term porta potty rental. Billing stops the day you request pickup, even if the truck comes a day or two later. Leave the unit where it sits, and keep the path to the unit clear for the driver.

StepWhat to do
1Call or text (972) 812-6200, Mon–Sat 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
2Give the service address and your name
3Leave the gate open or share the code
4Note the date you asked; billing stops that day

Our office is closed Sunday, so a weekday or Saturday request gets the fastest pickup.

Who rents a porta potty by the month?

In our 2026 call study, 11% of callers (19 of 172) had a home remodel, broken plumbing or a failed septic system. Those homes are the core of our monthly rentals. Families living in a camper while rebuilding and businesses needing overflow restrooms also rent by the month.

Where should a long-term porta potty sit at my house?

On level, firm ground within about 15 feet of where the service truck parks. The driver rolls the unit on a dolly. A backyard gate needs at least 48 inches of clear width, since a standard unit is 43.5 inches wide. Otherwise we use the driveway.

Many Plano-area subdivisions have HOA rules on visible items. Ask your HOA about time limits and placement before the unit arrives. We set units on private property, not in the street.

Plano's clay soil turns soft after rain. Gravel, concrete or a driveway edge stays firm all year.

Is renting better than buying and pumping your own toilet?

For most homes, yes. A rented unit comes with weekly pump-outs, cleaning and supplies. If you buy one, you still need a pump truck to empty the 60-gallon tank and a legal place to dump the waste. That is the hard part, and it is why most remodels rent.

Buying can make sense for a farm or ranch that needs a toilet for years and already has a pumping contract. For a remodel or a septic repair, renting usually wins.

Long-term rental questions

If I request pickup on day 10 of a cycle, do I pay for the whole cycle?
No. Partial cycles are prorated, so billing stops the day you request pickup.
Does my long-term porta potty leave on its own when the remodel ends?
No. Pickup is not automatic. Call or text (972) 812-6200 when you are done, and billing stops that day.
Why is my second 28-day bill lower than my first one?
The first 28-day cycle includes delivery. Every later cycle covers only the unit and 4 weekly services, so the rate is lower.
Can I switch my monthly unit to a deluxe one with a sink?
Yes. Call and we swap it on a service day. The new rate and any swap trip charge show on an updated itemized quote first. See our deluxe unit page.
Our septic failed. How fast can a porta potty get here?
Usually next business day. Same-day delivery is possible Mon–Sat when a truck and unit are free. Call early in the day for the best odds.
Can I skip a weekly service if the toilet is barely used?
Weekly service is part of the 28-day rate. If the unit sits idle for a stretch, call us and we will talk through options.
