How do Irving's event rules set your restroom count?
Irving's special events code includes a table that sets a minimum number of portable restrooms by daily attendance and event hours. The code also requires a hand-wash facility within 20 feet of every portable toilet, at a ratio of at least 1 hand-wash facility for every 4 toilets. Plan sinks next to each cluster.

Irving's code asks for a preliminary application at least 90 days before the event, and no more than 365 days ahead. For events at city venues, a venue rental application and site plan go to Parks and Recreation first.
Start with the city's special event permit application and read Irving Code Chapter 33B. Each hand-wash facility must supply water, soap and single-use towels. Our two-station hand wash sink has foot pumps, 2 soap dispensers and a towel dispenser.
Is the city's table the same as your sizing method?
No. Irving's table is a legal minimum, and our method aims for short lines. For example, the city table lists 19 units for 1,001 to 2,000 attendees over 8 hours. Our method gives 45 units for 1,500 guests over 8 hours with no alcohol. Ask the permit office which number they expect.
| Crowd | Hours | Irving table | Our method |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 50 | 1 | 1 unit | 1 unit |
| 1,500 | 8 | 19 units (1,001–2,000 row) | 45 units + 12 sinks |
Our steps: guests ÷ 50, add 1 per 100 for events over 4 hours, add 1 per 100 if alcohol is served, then 1 sink per 4 toilets. The full method is in our sizing guide. The city decides what your permit needs. Not legal advice.
How far is Irving from our Plano yard?
Irving is about 28 to 35 miles from our yard at 6000 Split Trail Rd in east Plano, roughly 40 to 55 minutes each way. Drivers take the President George Bush Turnpike west and south to SH-161, or I-635 west. Same-day delivery is less likely here, so book at least 1 business day ahead.
The driver calls 30 to 60 minutes before arriving. No exact time is guaranteed. Weekend event units drop Friday, sometimes Thursday, and come back Monday at no extra charge.
- Book weekend events by Wednesday.
- Large permitted events: book once your site plan is set, so we can plan several trucks.

For a client-facing event in Las Colinas, a 2-stall or 3-stall restroom trailer looks and feels like an indoor restroom. A trailer needs a standard 110V/20A outlet or generator, a hose connection or onboard tank, and level ground with room for a truck and trailer. Parking garages usually can't fit the rig.
Ask building management for a surface lot or loading area. Standard units fit more places and need no power or water.
| Option | Needs | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Restroom trailer | Power, water, level lot, truck access | Galas, client events, long days |
| VIP flushing cabin | Level ground | Small VIP areas |
| Standard + hand wash | Firm ground within 15 ft of truck | Staff areas, overflow |

Do Valley Ranch and Hackberry Creek rules change placement?
Yes. Hackberry Creek is a gated community, so our driver needs a gate code or guard approval before arriving. Valley Ranch and many Las Colinas sections have HOA rules about items in view. Ask your HOA how many days a unit may stay. A 48-inch gate lets us set the unit in back.
- Give us the gate code or tell the guard our company name.
- Mark the spot with a cone, flag or ribbon.
- You don't need to be home if the spot is marked and reachable.
We place units on private property. A unit in a public street can need city approval.
What do warehouse and distribution crews need?
A warehouse build-out or dock project with 20 or fewer workers needs at least 1 toilet under OSHA Table D-1. Above 20 workers, plan 1 seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers. Units on a 28-day rental get weekly pump-out and restocking, and handwashing is required under 29 CFR 1926.51(f).
Daily plant operations follow 29 CFR 1910.141. For bigger sites, see our units for plants and warehouses, including trailer-mounted units that move with the crew. Pickup on long rentals is not automatic; call or text and billing stops that day.
